NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF PAXTANG
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the intention of the COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF PAXTANG, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, to consider enactment of Ordinance No. 2026-690 to adopt a new Chapter 325, Rental Property, and to repeal and replace the current Chapter 325, in order to establish rental property licensing, registration, inspection, maintenance, and enforcement requirements; repealing and re-adopting fees for registration, inspection, and re-inspections; and providing for violations punishable as summary offenses at its regular business meeting on October 20, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., to be held at the Borough Offices at 3423 Derry Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
A copy of the full text of the proposed Ordinance is available for review at the Borough Offices during regular business hours and on the Borough website https://www.paxtang.org/. Copies of all or a portion of the Ordinance or portions thereof will be made available for purchase at the cost of reproduction. Persons who wish to purchase a complete copy of the Ordinance are asked to call the Borough in advance at 717-564-4770.
NOTICE OF COUNCIL MEMBER VACANCY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Paxtang Borough hereby announces a vacancy on the Council resulting from the resignation of a Council Member, effective October 6, 2026. In accordance with applicable laws and local ordinances, the Council will accept letters of interest from qualified residents interested in serving the remainder of the unexpired term ending December 31, 2027.
Applicants must:

Be a registered voter within the municipality.

Be a resident of the municipality for the period required by law.

Meet all other eligibility requirements established by state law and local ordinance.
Application Process
Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest outlining qualifications and reasons for seeking appointment. Applications must be received no later than 3:30 p.m. on September 30, 2026 and may be submitted to:

Appointment Process
The Council may conduct interviews of qualified applicants at a public meeting scheduled for October 6, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Following interviews, the Council is expected to appoint a qualified individual to fill the vacancy.
