Mayor Sheilah Borne Fuller

Appointed on January 17, 2017; elected to serve January 2018-January 2022

Message from the Mayor

It is truly my great honor to serve as the Mayor of Paxtang Borough. My family has lived in the borough for over ten years and in that time we’ve come to appreciate the history, sense of community and vitality of Paxtang.

Paxtang already has what many up-and-coming small towns and boroughs are seeking; a diverse, walkable community with green space and parks, as well as eateries and retail shops, all within minutes of your front door.  Children can be found playing outside in the yards, playgrounds and ball fields throughout the borough. The Capital Area Greenbelt is constantly bustling with walkers (both dogs and their owners), runners and bikers who enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the parkway without having to drive miles to enjoy.

We are supported by many terrific local organizations such as the Lenker Manor-Paxtang Women’s Group, the Wilhelm-Paxtang Athletic Association, Paxtang Lions Club, Paxtang Historical Society, Paxtang Art Association and more.   Our volunteer Fire Company is small but mighty, running over 300 calls a year, many of which provide aid to neighboring municipalities.

From the old time charm of Paxtang's 4th of July and Halloween parades to our holiday tree lighting and Memorial Day picnic, our borough offers the quaintness and charm of small town Americana within close proximity to the cultural, retail and business offerings of larger towns and cities.  So spend some time walking our tree-lined streets and marvel at the architecture of our historical homes and buildings, many dating back to the mid-1800s and earlier.  Visit the Paxtang Presbyterian Church, where its church building is the oldest in continuous use in Pennsylvania and the second oldest in the United States.  Well-founded tradition says that preaching started in this historic church as early as 1716.

Learn about our world-class elementary school and grab something to eat at one of our many local restaurants.  Enjoy your time as either a visitor or resident in Paxtang Borough, where the best of many worlds converge and all are invited and welcomed.

Sincerely,

Sheilah Borne Fuller
